Measuring for Your Luxaflex® Window Shade

 

Before you begin: some tips with regard to measuring:

Step 1. Check the recess for suitability:

  • Check that there are no alarm sensors, door handles, window latches or any other obstacles in the way.
  • Check if doors or windows open inwards—if they do, shades will have to be fitted directly to windows / doors or mounted outside recess

Step 2. Where to fix the blind:
W ill the product be installed inside or outside the recess?

  • If the product is to be hung inside the recess (Recess Fix):
  • Measure the width of the recess at the top, middle and bottom
  • Measure the height of the recess left, middle and right.
  • Order the smallest measured width and height (in mm)
  • Check that the product will freely fit and operate inside the recess. If the recess is less than 75mm deep consult your nearest distributor or contact us.
  • If the product is to be hung outside the recess (Face Fix):
    • Measure the width of the recess at the top and bottom.
    • Measure the height of the recess both left and right.
    • Determine how much the product is to overlap the recess.
    • Add this on and order the shade to the adjusted sizes (in mm)

Step 3. Check the stack size of the product:

  • Will doors and windows clear the stack if they open inwards?
  • Will there be enough head clearance at the door?
Recess size:
  • The factory makes a predetermined allowance in the height and width, so that the product has enough clearance in the recess. This is the default ordering method

Finished Blind size :

  • The factory supplies exactly the size that has been ordered. You must make the clearance reduction yourself; especially when installing inside the recess, to ensure that the product will hang free in the opening! N.B. this is not the default ordering method and you must make this choice clear when ordering.
